Founded in 1980 in Yamoussoukro, the Côte d’Ivoire Open is one of the historic tournaments of African golf.
About
Every year the Côte d’Ivoire Open brings together professional and amateur golfers from around the world at the President Golf Club in Yamoussoukro. Beyond the competition, the tournament showcases Ivorian tourism, business and youth, and supports a charity project.
History
The first edition took place in 1980 and was won by South Africa’s Gary Player. England’s Gordon J. Brand won three times between 1981 and 1988, Vijay Singh triumphed in 1989 and Ian Poulter in 1999. After a long break, the tournament was revived in 2017 and won by Vincent Torgah.
